Service Area Expertise: Strategic Consulting and Facilitation; Program Management and Support; Meeting and Conference Planning; Marketing and Outreach.

Melissa Ladd is a project manager with over 10 years experience in coastal conservation strategies and projects. In her role as a contractor with NOAA Coastal Services Center, she led cross-center teams in setting priorities and meeting customer needs through NOAA products while communicating contract staff issues and needs to senior management of the federal client. Ms. Ladd oversaw quality assurance for deliverables and timelines on multiple projects each year. When the client needed content expertise on land-use planning to be presented at management meetings, she was the sole contractor asked to serve on the all-federal leadership team. As a trusted resource, she served on a subcommittee that provided strategic priorities to the leadership team, resulting in a draft of an updated strategic plan. Her work with public speaking on South Carolina’s coast quality of life and environmental issues extends to her generation of press coverage and political attention to the issues. Melissa Ladd was awarded The Baldwin Group Outstanding Achievement Award, the U.S. Council on Environmental Quality Recognition Award, and a Certificate in Public Participation from the International Association for Public Participation. She served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Association for Conflict Resolution (South Carolina Chapter) and on the Steering Committee for the South Carolina Aquarium Sustainable Seafood Education Project. Ms. Ladd received Advanced Facilitation and Leadership & Management Skills training. She earned her Bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude in Biology and Spanish from Furman University and her Masters degree in Environmental Management from Duke University.
