What is it?
Methodology and means to gather information necessary to
effectively and efficiently characterize and/or define a
situation, condition, or opportunity.
What Can It Be Used For?
Anytime there is a requirement to start something new or to
renew existing efforts, an assessment to discern the current
situation is important to establish a baseline. Often the
baseline condition is compared to a desired future condition
and any missing needs are defined as gaps. This approach
helps focus on the gaps that will need filling to reach the
requirement’s new goals.
TBG Expertise
With a strong management consulting base, TBG is well
positioned to assist any client with any type of
assessment. These include organization, culture, personnel,
and project types. TBG has conceived, designed, developed,
administered, analyzed and reported on large to small needs
assessments. These have been used to design new training
and to confirm existing understanding or source of
deteriorating conditions within Federal agencies.
- TBG documented and validated a serious morale
concern within a Federal agency by using a combination
of a web-based survey, face-to-face interviews for
verification, ongoing communications and visits with the
client, a no-holds barred report with recommendations.
The client was able to move forward to eliminate the
morale issue without delay.
- TBG provided a national survey to assess
understanding of Agency managers about EEO, Civil Rights
and Diversity. The survey was customized effectively
with the input of the Agency’s own SMEs. We documented
the results and made recommendations on the nature and
needs for training in writing and in a formal
presentation to the Agency’s executive. They discussed
the recommendations and accepted them.
- TBG utilized the WebCall (Web+phone), Website, and
face-to-face to successfully engage and enlist State
representatives to establish two national networks
involved with highway safety -- enforcement of
regulations (network of legal personnel) and a State
Peer Exchange Network (to share resources and lessons
learned).
Our lead survey specialist has managed over 150 surveys
covering a wide range of topics.
