Strategic Facilitator Training
Making meetings work is the goal. Trained facilitators help teams work at an energized forward pace. This session is for new and experienced facilitators to explore and practice all four facilitator roles that make meetings work.

Course Content

  • The 4-roles of a Strategic FacilitatorSM
  • Skills and behaviors used in facilitating a meeting
  • The 90% success tool, The Agenda
  • Techniques to guarantee meeting success, including Great Ideas chart
  • Coalition building made easy with facilitation tools
  • Strategies to position individual meetings in the context of a larger effort
  • Modeled practice of new skills using participant-derived case studies

Key Objectives

  • Plan & manage meetings effectively
  • Identify and manage difficult meeting participants
  • Learn and apply techniques for building teams from diverse constituencies (coalition-building techniques), including strategic decision-making concepts
  • Learn from each other while practicing all 4-roles of a Strategic FacilitatorSM

  • Anyone involved in leading/running meetings

Materials/Text

  • Workbook with references and graphics
  • Approximately 35% of the time is in the presentation mode
  • Client-based case studies, supported by individual and group activities and exercises, serve to reinforce the lessons

Course Length
